Idea
What is the Blue Economy?
The Blue Economy is where what is best for health and the environment is also the cheapest, and where the necessities of life come free, through a local system of production and consumption that runs on what you already have. It is the ZERI philosophy in action.
The founding book, The Blue Economy, describes 100 innovations able to create 100 million jobs in ten years. These are not intentions. Each one starts from something observed in nature, or from a waste stream that already exists, and turns into a real economic activity.
Principles
- Value everything
- Restore nature
- Regenerate, do not recycle
- What is available locally

Join the map
The most direct step is the map. If you are running a project that does better with what is available locally, add it. It becomes visible to everyone else, and it makes you visible to them. The account you create also works for the community.
Add your initiative to the global map of the Blue Economy.
