Gorona del Viento (El Hierro)

Hybrid plant combining an 11.5 MW wind farm with a pumped-storage system between two reservoirs 700 metres apart in elevation, in service since 2014 on El Hierro island. It allows the island to run on fully renewable electricity for extended periods. Operator Gorona del Viento El Hierro S.A. brings together majority public capital and Endesa, and is developing an agrivoltaic extension.
