Jorge Reynolds, nanostimulateur cardiaque

Project Bogotá, Colombie

Jorge Reynolds Pombo, a Colombian engineer born in 1936 and inventor in 1958 of the first external cardiac pacemaker, has worked since the 2000s on a battery-free nanopacemaker inspired by whale heart electrophysiology. The device is still described in the press as a research project with no documented commercial existence. Claims of human implantation relayed by some sources could not be corroborated.
