Clean-up scheme for Takaroa lagoon targeting pearl-farming waste, led by the engineering firm Odewa. A sonar-equipped underwater robot locates submerged collectors and buoys, which a barge fitted with grabs then removes. The project is funded by the IUCN Best Life fund and the Ifrecor Toa Reef prize, with a first prototype tested in late 2025.
